En route to a 4th place finish at the
Greenbrier Classic in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia,
D.A. Points, shot an incredible 61 (-9) on Saturday afternoon. D.A. needed only (2) more birdies on the final 3 holes to become the 5th person to ever shot a 59 on the PGA Tour. However eventual winner,
Stuart Appleby, would earn that distinction a day later on Sunday.
During coverage on Saturday, the cameras caught D.A. Point's ball in a green side bunker with the words "Not Perfect" written on his golf ball. When asked to explain the markings after the round, D.A. replied, "My caddie thinks I'm a little hard on myself. So one side says "not perfect," and then the other "but " I write stuff like that on my golf ball. Just little things to keep me thinking about positive stuff."
Since the British Open, D.A. is the second PGA professional near or atop the leader board to use positive reminders on the golf course which is the same space and concept
PTR Labels is promoting with their shapes and
designs. I definitely expect the trend to continue.
